(08-23) 23:48 PDT -- Engineers at Canon have created a digital image sensor with a resolution of 120-megapixels, the highest yet managed for a sensor of its size, the company said Tuesday.
wow nice :D But why the need for such large mp's? I mean we already have big enough mp sizes :D
true, at the consumer end, we've seen more than enough mega pixels. but one aspect about excess megapixels is that you can crop a small portion and blow it up. 120 megs wont come into a smaller cam in a hurry for sure! the proportionate lens would have to be a monster. I can imagine a mini hubble around if they were to have a 600 mm f4 lens on that sensor :P
