I got an email from the woman assessing my assignments today. It started, "Congratulations", and it was just like a weight had lifted off me. I honestly thought I would have to repeat a couple of assignments, but she said it was good work and other nice things. And I've passed. That was the first hurdle, but I am delighted.

I try to take Saturday off every week. It's the day of rest. I am not a Christian's bootstrap, but I do believe in keeping the Sabbath. My commitment has been getting stronger recently, although I haven't always done this - even recently.

Can I have another cuppa - cocoa, if you don't mind 'cause I'm going to bed soon? An' what was the biskit? Are there any left? Can I have one? WHY NOT?!

835. happyture30 July 2011, 14:52 GMT +02:00

It's Saturday according to the bible, so who changed it?

Now, about this dunking - I prefer a chocolate cream biscuit (not choc coated), with a hint of coconut, if you don't mind. And next time I'm late, would you mind havin' the selluf control to leave my share alone? I am very shocked you ate mine. I think you is trying to punish me.

http://www.answers.com/topic/sabbath

838. xymonau30 July 2011, 16:46 GMT +02:00

Just read the bible. The day was made holy. There is nowhere where it was made un-holy. Sunday was never made a day of worship until bad things crept into the church - pagan worship practices - and the church decided tradition was equally as valid as the bible. The sabbath was the last day of the creation week, when God gave man a day of rest. Jesus rested in the tomb over the sabbath at the end of the redemption week. There are ten commandments, not nine, and if it is not okay to break nine of them (adultery, telling lies, stealing, etc), then why is it okay to break the fourth (the sabbath one)? The law that was nailed to the cross was the ritual law that pointed forward to a saviour. It wasn't needed any more. But health laws, laws about mercy towards people, and the ten commandments - written by God's finger in stone (can't get a clearer symbolism than that) didn't point to Christ, and they still stand.

I don't mean to preach, but you ate my biskit!

839. happyture30 July 2011, 20:56 GMT +02:00
