Camera for Christmas!

1. happyture13 December 2011, 7:37 GMT +01:00

Well its that time of year again, the photography shops are full to the britches with sparkly new cameras with more pixels and wonder gadgetry than you can wave a stick at, I am looking for a new camera but dont want to have a wheelbarrow to carry it around, I have been looking closely at the Panasonic G3 amazed at the size and control this camera seems to have, yet i am concerned that the iso settings only goes down to 160iso,,,,that i feel is rather high as my little fuji and Big Nikon go down much lower around 80iso with the fuji and 100iso with the Nikon,,,I can hear you all saying OMG he's rambling again, BUT i would love to hear your opinions on the many cameras that are on the market at the moment.

Because I yam perfeck. Glad you realise that, my little fren'.

Well, his surname is "Harris" - isn't that Welsh? (I wouldn't really know - just a stab in the dark! LOL)

243. happyture11 February 2012, 13:51 GMT +01:00

Yes, i knows you iz perfeck, i knows it, an i nowed it a while now an eye, .....
I thought Harris was a Oztralian name a Aboriginal name meaning man who paints and tries to sing.. NOW correct me if im wrong??

244. xymonau11 February 2012, 15:27 GMT +01:00

He did name his daughter "Bindi". I always thought it was odd naming a child after the bindii, a noxious thorn plant that every child here has stood on many times. (The two "i"s are correct.)

245. happyture11 February 2012, 22:33 GMT +01:00

Strange name for a child init, didn't he call his son "Cactus Jack"?

246. xymonau12 February 2012, 2:01 GMT +01:00

I thought he only had a daughter. Or are you being funny? I didn't get it.

247. happyture12 February 2012, 10:42 GMT +01:00

Oh you Oztralians, dry as a cracker at a slimmers reunion :O)

248. xymonau12 February 2012, 13:54 GMT +01:00

Oh. I think I got it.

I have to go to Brisbane again tomorrow for another workshop, so I will be off the air until Thursday, our time. I am going to be a busy little girl for a number of weeks, with the CHIP program thrown in for good measure. Went tonight, and we are supposed to do a "quick start" 7 days of eating all we want, but within certain foods. Start with fruit and grains for two days, so porridge, rice, etc, and any kind or amount of fresh or frozen (sugar-free) fruit. I don't think I can cope in a motel, so I'll start later. It's really what I'm already eating most days, but I'd like to be really focussed and eat properly according to the program. Nice bunch of people running it.

249. happyture12 February 2012, 18:30 GMT +01:00

Have a great time Dezzie, remember a doggie bag for moi wont you,,,Do you get FISH with Those CHIPS???

250. xymonau16 February 2012, 14:28 GMT +01:00

Nope - jus' beans. They gave us a lentil concoction tonight that was delicious! Light and flavoursome.

I drove back today, had to field some problems at work, then CHIP tonight. The day ended around 10:30 and I have to go to bed soon. Really tired, and work tomorrow. Only the good die young, I hope.

251. happyture16 February 2012, 22:25 GMT +01:00

Think i seen the film,,,did you all sit around a camp fire Farting like canons going off after you input of beans???
10.30,,,thats absolutely terrible, do they realize that you do actually need some relaxation/sleep time...

252. xymonau18 February 2012, 9:48 GMT +01:00

Oh, that was my choice/fault. The meeting ended at 9-ish, but it's a 45 minute drive back, and I left my phone in the work vehicle. I need it as I'm on call all the time. So I had to stop in there and get it. My own silly fault. However, I'm going to be really weary in the next weeks. Massive assignments to do. I think my anxiety is not helping me right now. I'll survive.

253. happyture18 February 2012, 10:33 GMT +01:00

You is a workaholic hown up you is isn't you, cant help volunteering for hour eating consignments/Assignments ,,,you knows what will happen to you dont you,,,One day your boss will walk in and say Dezzmerellda Im sorry but you is over qualified for this job and i dont want you taking mine so bye bye baby bye bye...bet ya now me last Buck$

254. xymonau18 February 2012, 12:05 GMT +01:00

No, I am honestly not a workaholic. I'm really lazy. That's why I'm complaining all the time! LOL It has just been a difficult year, and there are things to catch up on. I may yet have that breakdown I so long for! Ah, to be drugged and forced to let the nice nurses tuck me into bed for a few weeks.

255. happyture19 February 2012, 11:30 GMT +01:00

Its nice when nursey fluffs your pillow and feeds breakfast for you,,,

256. xymonau19 February 2012, 12:47 GMT +01:00

257. happyture19 February 2012, 15:06 GMT +01:00

I was in hospital for a few months when i was a puppy, it was like having half a dozen mothers all fussin about,

258. xymonau20 February 2012, 12:32 GMT +01:00

Lovely.

Well, last night at CHIP there was a lot of talk about flatulence and healthy stools. It was a very earthy discussion. With illustrations.

259. happyture21 February 2012, 10:14 GMT +01:00

WRETTTTCCCCH,,, WRETCCCCH ,,, YURRRRRK,,,,lovely,, I wonder, NO i worry about you sometimes Dezzie, just who are you getting mixed up with??

260. xymonau21 February 2012, 13:01 GMT +01:00

It was about fibre, dearie - and it was very appropriate. Talking about diverticulosis, etc.

Tonight we learned that type 2 diabetes is caused by fat, not sugar. And they dealt with the topic of salt. Just one level teaspoon per day is the maximum you should have - 5000 milligrams. Each topic shows research done that supports it all. A fabulous program. Seriously, if you get the chance and they run one over there, just go. The name is changing to the "Complete Health Improvement Program" - still "CHIP".

I saw the cardiologist again today, and I'm doing well. I'm almost off blood pressure pills, and he said he could see that I have lost a lot of weight. That encouraged me. I don't have to see him for six months now.

261. happyture21 February 2012, 20:04 GMT +01:00
