Loch Lomond, the largest expanse of freshwater in Great Britain and the centrepiece of the The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park in Scotland. Up to 4,500 million litres of water is abstracted from Loch Lomond each day to boost water supplies in central Scotland including parts of Edinburgh and Glasgow. 30 cm of depth of the loch water contains nearly 22,500,000,000 litres of water, and rainfall replaces most of what is taken.
