32 teams... Who will win the cup?

74. krayker23 June 2010, 16:47 GMT +02:00

@ 72, english side certainly have it in them. lampards' my favourite, been tracking him since early days of his career. hope he strike some form and some goals! he's probably the most under rated player in the team.

Miracles can happen!!

"Belief is what gets you/us there!"
The US Team believed till the last minute and that's what got them to the next phase.
Congratulations! :)

Congrats USA! Yes you can!!!

78. happyture23 June 2010, 21:12 GMT +02:00

@77 Only in their dreams!

I found Donovan's comments highly amusing. 'we're alive baby' was he completely surprised by their performance ? he looked like he wasnt prepared for a good soundbite :P

Italy-Slovakia match was an absolute cracker of a contest. too bad italy couldn't raise their game initially.

82. mzacha25 June 2010, 14:11 GMT +02:00

That is a huge surprise. France, now Italy. Europe sux.

83. crisderaud27 June 2010, 16:02 GMT +02:00

We got as far as we could hope to get. The US created quite a few soccer fans but fell short of sweeping the nation with World Cup pandemonium.

Back to watching baseball. A casual sport where either team can win regardless of the late game score. No time clock to put an end to it. "It ain't over till the fat lady sings" the old saying goes.

84. weirdvis28 June 2010, 0:06 GMT +02:00

Steamrollered by Germany. Can't say that was a surprise. The better team won and deserved to.

85. decar6628 June 2010, 9:52 GMT +02:00

Germany will face Argentina in the next match, clash of the Titans. I'm looking forward to it.

86. mzacha28 June 2010, 10:22 GMT +02:00

The referees are blind. Is it a time to introduce some kind of video-judge?

87. krayker28 June 2010, 11:49 GMT +02:00

yeah, need the hawk-eye in soccer too. this one was a pretty glaring error for england and lampard. but the germans did play pretty well.

I felt bad for team usa - but, they were completely outplayed by a spirited ghana, the pace set by ghana was scorching. the second goal was testimony for it - despite the US defender being all over the raider - he scored a top notch goal.

Yes, changes are necessary.

89. krayker29 June 2010, 6:36 GMT +02:00

some match yesterday. Brazil looks like its in top form. next round will be interesting!

90. happyture29 June 2010, 9:11 GMT +02:00

Brazil V Germany Final, what do you Think?

91. Abyla29 June 2010, 9:50 GMT +02:00

Germany had to win his match against Argentina first and Brazil the same against Holland. I'm not sure of that Final.

92. happyture29 June 2010, 10:03 GMT +02:00

I know Brazil play like men possessed, but The German team seem to be able to dig ever deeper to get the desired ending to whoever they play and are also getting better at doing so...

93. Abyla29 June 2010, 10:54 GMT +02:00

Yes, Germany is a firm candidate for the Final.

94. iikozen29 June 2010, 13:56 GMT +02:00

Winning should be a consequence of a beautifully played match. I hope to see Elano recovered and playing with Robinho and Kaká against Netherlands.
One game at the time... :)

95. happyture29 June 2010, 17:27 GMT +02:00

Part of the fun is surmising who will be the eventual winners is it not!

96. krayker29 June 2010, 17:34 GMT +02:00

germany, argentina, brazil - all of these look in equal form. who is the fourth one ? any of these can win in the finals - suppose they reach it.
