Spain won against our blood brothers, next step Paraguay on Saturday.

I just put my vuvuzela in the trunk. I'll be rooting for Holland now!!!
Well deserved win!
:)

105. Zela2 July 2010, 19:51 GMT +02:00

We have orange vuvuzelas. They go well with the orange wooden shoes ;-)

106. macieklew2 July 2010, 20:05 GMT +02:00

Go Holland! :)

107. jazza2 July 2010, 22:12 GMT +02:00

I didn't expect Holland to win. But they did! It is Brazilian hot (35* Celsius) in the Netherlands right now.

108. happyture3 July 2010, 7:30 GMT +02:00

Ooooh, so sad Ghana's out, they might not have been the best team in the world, but didn't they bring fun to the tournament,, :O(

109. krayker3 July 2010, 7:55 GMT +02:00

yeah, there was this one pass from the ghana players - he was facing his own goal post near Paraguay's dee area and he made a reverse pass to the striker - it was superb, but, it did not result in a goal. nevertheless, very entertaining football.

this world cup has been unpredictable. but I'm sad that vuvuzelas and poor refereeing marred the cup for me. not to forget the new ball being introduced during the WC - so the strikers haven't been at ease with the new ball (whatever its merits are). its been an ordinary time - I dont blame SA/ hosts for the debacle though.

It will be the singing and dancing and general merriment of the team i shall miss, A bonus was they were getting better at football each match they played. as for the ball, i think the players would have more control with a beach ball, absolute rubbish the things are, it is however said, its a poor worker who blames his tools?

111. krayker3 July 2010, 10:14 GMT +02:00

true, there are several such quotes in each culture, like "one who doesn't know how to dance blames the dance floor". but in this case, i'd beg to differ. although the defensive games induced less goals initially, there certainly was uncertainty about the ball. there hasnt been a single banana kick this world cup. very few headers - because the delivery has been spotty (again players being unsure about the ball movement). all in all, this world cup has been a mess by fifa. the blame squarely lies at their doorstep . looks like its more like lack of planning or lack of anticipation of problems, and some really slow reaction or lack of action!

112. iikozen3 July 2010, 14:00 GMT +02:00

Sad Ghana could move forward... Even Mandela sent a message to the player who missed the penalty telling him he and everyone else are proud of him!

I wouldn't blame Jabulani (the ball) at all. I've heard about a fight between Nike and Adidas and that's what it was all about, business, money, trying to influence the media and, in the end, us.
Robinho said the ball behaved differently, but he was able to manage, just like most skilled player did.

The grass/field were a shame!

Still I will keep the good moments and forget the rest.
:)

does argentina believe in defense ? I am pretty curious after their dismal performance against germany. messi was well marked, and some fantabulous defense by lahm.

114. happyture3 July 2010, 18:11 GMT +02:00

Brilliant game, yet again Germany dig deeper than before, a pleasure to watch...

115. decar663 July 2010, 23:22 GMT +02:00

Victory of Spain against Paraguay, three penaties and three hits on the post before a goal... today God was Spanish. Next step Germany in semi-finals.

116. lennie4 July 2010, 2:07 GMT +02:00

And Germany will win ? and after that win in the finals.

117. xymonau4 July 2010, 9:49 GMT +02:00

I have a Dutch brother in law, so I have to support the Netherlands now.

118. happyture4 July 2010, 10:26 GMT +02:00

@116 I agree 100% with you there! Think the octopus has it in the bag...

119. Abyla4 July 2010, 10:49 GMT +02:00
