A grandparent has the right to annoy the parents by spoiling the grandkids rotten. It's our only revenge.

460. happyture17 March 2012, 23:02 GMT +01:00

Ha ha ha,,yes revenge is sweet dezzie,,,i have a reason for every grey hair :O)

I actually am quite strict with them about the important things. If it doesn't kill them or ruin their characters, then what's the fuss? Someone was once really impressed when my son - aged 8 at the time - came to me to ask if he could play in the mud with the other kids. I told him he could - with some qualifications - and the person was gobsmacked. Firstly because he asked, and then because i said he could.

462. happyture18 March 2012, 11:52 GMT +01:00

But they didn't see you thrash him with a pointy stick for not taking his shoes off first,,,????

463. xymonau18 March 2012, 12:00 GMT +01:00

I keep my pointy stick for people who annoy me. Notchoo, Mikey. You don't...er, is that the time?

464. happyture18 March 2012, 13:11 GMT +01:00

465. xymonau18 March 2012, 13:37 GMT +01:00

You must be skykick! It's a bit later than that now. I has to get my beuty sleep soon. I'm going to drive to Brisbane on Tuesday and go into hospital for a sleep test. I may be there for two nights or just the one. Nothing dramatic, but a bit inconvenient. I feel a bit odd being admitted to hospital. I bought a nightie for the occasion! LOL

Sleep test,,,now thats strange,,i had to go for an awake test, just wanted to see if i was asleep with my eyes open,,,Nighties,,,ahh yes black lacy things that are good for keeping your necks warm????

468. xymonau19 March 2012, 9:45 GMT +01:00

Don't be vulgar. This one would keep my neck to hankles warm. I'm not really wanting to wear it. I'll be wired up to every machine known to man, apparently. No dignity left.

The worst is that I'll have to pay for parking. If it's as expensive as everywhere else in Brisbane, I'll have to borrow some cash from you.

469. happyture19 March 2012, 9:55 GMT +01:00

Bless, i hear its gettin really expensive to live down there in paradise, no need for it really, its just greedy governments aint it,, take the money off the working class to play with,,its the same here....

470. xymonau19 March 2012, 10:31 GMT +01:00

Big business has always lined its pockets from the poor. It's ludicrous that food, which is grown here for export all over the world, is so expensive, even in the towns where it's grown! But our rents are ludicrous. In Brisbane it's hard to find even an old dump for less than 400 dollars a week. The basic wage is only about 520 per week. How are people expected to live? In a small town like this, the rents aren't too bad yet, but they are going to open a coal mine here soon. Heaven help us all!

471. happyture20 March 2012, 8:20 GMT +01:00

See,,,we got the wrong people running our countries/planet, Why,,oh why, do we think that some smart arsed kid thats had straight A's through Collage can run our countries? these people have never ever scrimped or scrapped for anything, everything they have ever wanted has been put on a plate for them, Their thoughts are not on making the country a better place for the working class, its to make a BIG FAT NEST EGG for themselves and secure the future for the next of their type, The world should be run by real people, people who have worked and scrapped to survive, only then will will we have someone in the right frame of mind to alter things...

472. xymonau21 March 2012, 8:30 GMT +01:00

My father always said if politicians were paid the basic wage, you'd get honest people.

473. happyture21 March 2012, 9:14 GMT +01:00

True,,But there'd be no politicians?

474. xymonau21 March 2012, 10:13 GMT +01:00

Maybe they should all be volunteers - elected volunteers.

475. happyture21 March 2012, 11:46 GMT +01:00

All we need really is a good old fashioned national vote,,put everything to the public vote,,cant go wrong... right...

476. xymonau21 March 2012, 11:48 GMT +01:00

Our voting is compulsory, so everyone has a say.

477. happyture21 March 2012, 14:40 GMT +01:00

Thats the only way,,vote vote vote,,have women got the right to vote in Oztralia??

478. xymonau21 March 2012, 14:51 GMT +01:00

Not yet, but we're working on it.

479. happyture21 March 2012, 18:07 GMT +01:00

480. xymonau22 March 2012, 8:58 GMT +01:00
