the socks are growing
got up early today (11 AM)
but forgot to take pictures
and also it was (and still is) raining
so you just have to take my word for it

pair

Don't let the rain get to them or they'll shrink.

they will only shrink if the rain is really hot
and in November, here on the Northern Hemisphere, the rain is icy cold
so the socks are safe ;-)

today sunshine
and I got up early enough to take pictures
I'll upload them tonight

I knitted two yellow hats for my (oldest) sister
as a Sinterklaas present

To Do List let me see:
- Tiger socks and fingerless mittens for niece > check

- Hats for sister > check

- Socks for mother > 1 grey-blue pair with diamond pattern finished August/fox-brown cabled pair almost finished

- Hazel the Humpback whale (remember her?) > haven't started and now it's too late so will do next year

- Mother and child Octopussi > still have 12 arms to knit /stuff and attach eyes etc but will manage it in time (hooray)

- Dog toys > found a pattern for a knitted bone and have yarn so is possible (maybe?). Will need two; one for my mothers dachshund and one for my sisters.

Have I forgotten something? I know I had many ideas but I also changed my mind a lot….

here

all is quiet, too: my head is behaving itself, work is quite busy and we are looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend with our favourite indian food tomorrow.

Looks delicious, Michael. What is your favourite?

That Chicken breast in a Cardamom - Almond gravy is a delicacy, but they also have a lot of seasonal specialities on offer, which is always a nice surprise. They are very good at juggling with fine spices.

when you are there you always want

That's funny. I looked through and thought that one appealed to my tastebuds most, too. Cardamom is an interesting spice. I like it in tea as well.

yes I like cardamom too
it tastes at the same time sweet and peppery

I like cloves as well
but not everybody likes them

I love cloves in apple pie, and ground cloves can lift some Chinese food. I love nutmeg sprinkled on vegetables and tomato. Sweet basil and tomato were meant to always be eaten together. And I can eat mountains of garlic. This is why I have no friends...

just tell your friends to eat garlic too and problem solved

we weren't able to enjoy that indian food, we didn't get to the restaurant at all because my migraine struck again. And then our neighbours increased their pressure. We spoke with them several times during the course of the weekend, but it was no help. Our crazy neighbour was the worst of all, she slammed her door shut right into Christas face and refused to talk to us. There is obviously no way to reach an agreement. So we have decided to move out as soon as we have found a new unit (which is not too easy at the moment). The time till then will be quite hard to bear.

Oh, Michael, I am so sorry. Not only do you have health issues, but you've had to put up with all this as well. I hope you do find something suitable, and more peaceful than where you are. It seems a shame. You live in a lovely looking place. It's true, though, that peace of mind means more than a nice view. So will you try to speak to your potential new neighbours to see what they are like before you move? I guess that is not always possible. How long have you been there, Michael? And is your headache better now?

The house next door to me has sold and I thought a young couple had moved in, but it's the parents of one of them. Well, I think there is a couple, but I haven't really seen him yet. I spoke to the woman when I was out in the yard and their dogs barked at me (they have two - Thor, a German Shepherd, and Toby - of indeterminate breed, but maybe has some boxer in the pedigree. Anyway, it was late and I was so incredibly tired from work that I was blabbering and sounding quite like the crazy neighbour. She excused herself nicely, but she definitely didn't want to chat. Can't blame her. I couldn't think straight or get my words out clearly at that stage! LOL I do want to ask them if their dogs might chase chickens. I would hate to get some and then have them slaughtered by rampaging dogs.

Michael may be a new flat will reduce your stress and your migraine attacks. But moving isn't easy. Are the flats in Berlin as expensive as in Hamburg?

Dez you will meet your new neighbor again and then you'll have a better (new) start.

8705. Ayla8720 November 2013, 12:43 GMT +01:00

Currently we haven't found fitting new offers for flats, and yes, they are very expensive in Berlin. There are many people who want to move here and few new flats, so the prices are rising steadily.

And everybody we talk to tells us to try to stay and cope with the situation. We have written to our landlord, but we have no great expectation that our complain will be of any help. Everybody will deny to do us any harm (and will continue do to it anyhow).

Things are hard to prove because we are the only ones able to hear the noises coming from above, and when we call the police those from above would hear and see them coming and would instantly be silent...

Let's see who

8713. gesinek22 November 2013, 14:33 GMT +01:00

And maybe CIA or NSA or another organisation with three letters know about your neighbours. Perhaps you haven't to record the noise yourself. Just write them a mail:

Dear NSA,
as your new Mr. President...
