Nothing really wrong. But I was cooking and a glas with farine slipped out of my hand right down to the ground. I think you can imagine the mess in the kitchen.

I'm looking forward to the socks. Hope we can meet for handing over :-)

Michael, I'm glad you're having a break. I hope you recharge your batteries. Did you see the toy I put a link to on Facebook? I thought it was great - but I did wonder if it could be chewed up by a cat.

Isn't it frustrating when you smash things? I didn't smash something, but I have made a real mess of my bedroom carpet. My computer is in my bedroom - that's the only phone connection apart from in the kitchen - so I often eat at the desk as well (I know, but I live alone, so my standards are not always high! LOL). Last week I bought some gravy. I knew I shouldn't take it into the bedroom. When I went to open it, a waterfall (gravyfall?) of gravy poured onto the carpet. I tried to clean it, but it doesn't look very good. Then a few days later I was having some vege hot dogs, so I took some tomato sauce into the bedroom. Heinz. I went to put just a little on one of the hotdogs, and squeezed normally and this watery disgusting sauce flew across the room like a flamethrower! All over the carpet again. Even using the most delicate pressure resulted in a geyser of tomato sauce. I was so angry I contacted Heinz to tell them what I thought of their cheap, watered down product. They want serial and batch numbers and may refund me. Never again. And my carpet is now disgusting but I still haven't learned. *sigh*

mops

8963. gesinek29 March 2014, 12:31 GMT +01:00

Oh, this happens here also. We normally eat in bed watching TV. Ok, bedding can be washed but sometimes something spills to the carpet. Most cleanings offenses fail....

And I'm a real kitchen hero. Grab something with wet hands or with farine on my hands and bang, another piece is broken and the content is spreat over the kitchen.

Or I cut veggis and the water for the pasta starts to boil over the edge of the pot and pow, another cut in my fingers.

I will try to make cake

pops

the recipe sounds not dangerous *sigh*

8964. xymonau29 March 2014, 13:01 GMT +01:00

LOL! I hate breaking glass, but I have gotten to be very philosophical as I've gotten older and I rarely get angry and just try to deal with the situation. I always remember my mother being really impatient if I spilled or broke something when I was young and I determined never to do that to my son. On the occasions when he broke a glass, he would carry on, but I was always calm and told him it was okay. Maybe that has become a good habit. I still feel bad about it, but I'm just resigned to it.

I have never eaten a cake pop. My son bought a kit or something to make some for my granddaughters' birthday this week (they turned 9 and I wish I could have been there). The most exotic I have made is a cake in a coffee cup in the microwave, but haven't made one of those for years. Now I'm hungry thinking about cake! LOL

stop!

kitchen stories make me laugh and remember my own failures; and cake..yes please!

@gesine: I hope we can meet in april, does your friend have a racing-match soon?
The orange wool is really bright!

The race is in may but it is in the middle of the week he does know yet whether he can take part or not. But that's no reason. Google says the

path

to Groningen is only about 314 km long. I think we can find a day to meet.

8967. Groningen30 March 2014, 21:52 GMT +02:00

Cool!
First sock is finished and the second sock already has a cuff and a heel, yeah!

Dez, that cat-toy is a nice idea, I think Mimi would like it. Currently we entertain her with man- and womanpower without the aid of any batteries, but some variation is certainly always welcome.

Might help to loose some weight. Right now she is not really

Socks look great, Christine.

I remember when Mimi was so unhappy. What a changed cat she is! Fat and content.

nice photo on FB Christine.

Michael, it is hard for cats to loose weight. When you train them you'll be the first to loose weight and nervs.

8975. Ayla873 April 2014, 7:20 GMT +02:00

Oh, Mimi really has a good appetite. She would have to jump endlessly to easily get rid of all those calories again. We give her some calorie reduced food already (and she eats even more of it...). At least she is a healthy cat. One of our vets said one day, these are good reserves. I suppose he's right, as long as she won't explode ;-)

8976. xymonau3 April 2014, 11:42 GMT +02:00

The trick is to feed them in the morning, then remove all the food again until the afternoon. Once they eat, put it away again. Of course, if she would wake you too early, you'll want to leave some kibble or something for her late at night. As long as she can reach her back to scratch, it's not too bad, but as she gets older it might be harder for her. I had a cat that was about 7 kilos once. He put the weight on after he was desexed as an adult. He was a big black and white mostly Persian, but with a pretty face. Magnificent, and so pretty and placid natured.
