This time they did the washing up. Not a lot of expertise, but they washed absolutely everything and dried it up and put it away (possibly with food scraps, but I didn't look). They were very helpful. Not when they got tired, though. And one of them told me I was beautiful. How gorgeous is that?

Kids have to be disciplined. They will push you all the time to see how far they can go. My granddaughters get up a head of steam, and need to be pulled into line. Their father does a star chart for them - well, a sticker chart, really - and if they have been good and earned a certain number of stickers, they get to go to what I call "screaming maniacal children hell land", but what they call a fun play area. It has worked really well for them, and the great thing is that it makes them control themselves for a positive reason. I never did that with my son, and spent half his life threatening to wallop him (and sometimes walloping).
