What are you celebrating today?

Always a popular thread at the other place.

I'll kick this one off.

It was my birthday the other day. I was expecting a bottle of my favourite perfume (I've been dropping hints I was running low) and woke up to a Land Rover Freelander on the drive. I've always wanted a 4x4 and now I've finally got one courtesy of my Mum and my Significant Other Half.

Okay, so it's not a new one and it's not an all singing, all dancing model, but that doesn't bother me. It's a freaking Freelander, dudes!

Mine's a white soft top like the one in the foreground.

Downside - I'll have to fund my own bottle of smellies. Oh hold on - there's Mother's Day coming up...

I am celebrating that my third book about photography "iPhone Photography" is now going to the printer. It has been a long ride to get this one finished. But now it seems like we are going to publish just before christmas.

Fourth book will be on the market in feb. 2013. That book will be a "beginners book" - and the title will be "Volume 0" ;-) You may guess why...

John, congratulations! You're doing so well!

364. jazza22 November 2012, 22:33 GMT +01:00

Good work John! Maybe you should think about translating the books in English. I would certainty be interested to buy one..

365. johnnyberg23 November 2012, 14:48 GMT +01:00

Thank you both. It is the publisher who holds the rights to translate and publish the books. There have been talks about translating the forthcoming "Volume 0", because it will be the beginners guide into photography and be directly in line with the volumes from Scott Kelby ;-)

Yay! Just hit 20,000 downloads.

Happy Christmas everyone.

Yes happy New Year to everyone.

And a big Thank You to all, admin, approvers and helpers.

You are doing great work!

370. xymonau31 December 2012, 13:28 GMT +01:00

Ditto from me!

Early birthday pressie - EOS 50D. Plus a piece of Canon glass - f3.5-5.6 18-200mm IS zoom. Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this. I was sending out signals for something far more modest. Mum and significant other half have been conspiring again!

Does happy dance!

I can finally retire my faithful 350D (never let me down). It's going to a good home.

Can't wait to try out the new toy. Unfortunately the weather has been reset to normal this morning after a lovely sunny Saturday - gusting wind and rain. Damned if I'll let that put me off...

372. xymonau3 February 2013, 10:33 GMT +01:00

I hate you, but it's just jealousy. Congratulations, Lynne! You'll make good use of it. I look forward to seeing all your fabulous photos!

I spent so much money with B&H Photo in the last year that they gave me a 9 dollar credit on my next purchase.

That's like getting frequent flier miles!

i know it's not much but it did make me happy.

376. xymonau8 February 2013, 9:44 GMT +01:00

Well done, Cris! It's nice when people show they appreciate you as a customer.

Thank you both :-)

I really do get a kick out the books. It's really strange (and fantastic that my hobby has taken me so many places. And more books are forthcoming :-)
