Apologies first - this is about sxc - but as I don't use that forum any more (and looking at the lack of activity there it looks like nobody else does either!!) I thought I'd ask here...
I googled my user name and found...
http://www.polyvore.com/stock.xchng_piano_keys_stock_photo/thing?id=4913030
and they use a whole heap of sxc photos
http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/search.things?displayurl=sxc.hu
Is this kind of thing allowed?
A lot of our images have ended up on polyvore. I have a showing there too. But since they aren't stealing the images and link back to where they found them I've never had a problem with the situation. Technically it is redistribution and therefore against SXC rules.
I've always looked upon it as a means of exposing my work. Saying that, I no longer have any kind of presence on SXC so perhaps I should email polyvore and tell them where I am...
:0)
PS glad to see you've come through that storm unscathed.
Polyvore has been in forum questions for years. It's mostly just a harmless fun site where beginners can take various objects and make composites then put their creations on display. Lots of my stuff has been used there and I just accept them and am not concerned.
Some people don't agree with the Polyvore policy but they don't seem to pay much attention to any fuss you make over them using your photos.
