Happy Easter

I hope all our members have a safe and peaceful Easter.
In this country we get four days off, and it's a time when families often have a trip to the beach or a picnic. Kids also get a week or so off school - the first semester break. There are the usual religious services. Good Friday is a day when most shops and hotels (pubs) are closed. We do the Easter egg thing on Sunday. In recent years, the Easter Bilby was invented. The little creature needs conservation, and it is as cute and fluffy, with big ears, as the bunny. It never took off, but you can usually buy chocolate bilbies in the stores alongside the bunnies. Not in the country town where I live, though!

Unfortunately, there is usually a high death toll on the roads because people are out and about more than usual, and also because of increased drinking.

That sounds lovely Dezzie,, specially the high death toll,, Yeah Yeah,,, Here in UKland we eat chocolate until the early hours, eggs,bunnies, white chocolate/dark chocolate all is devoured with gusto, a wet finger is often used to pick up the chocolate crumbs which is then placed into the mouth along with bits of human hair small creatures etc, but what the heck, chocolate is chocolate and cant be wasted, I have run tests myself to find out just why chocolate is so addictive and found that its the glass and a half of pure fresh cows milk plus one half glass of Nicotine juice they also add, I would like to wish everyone a happy easter.....

Mikey has it about right. Sensible people stay at home and stuff themselves stupid on chocolate. Sounds like a plan...

We haven't bilbies in Spain but kids also get a week off the school and persons with normal jobs get four days off too, isn't in my case because I'm working this year all the week.
We celebrate Easter here in a very different way. You can find videos in youtube if you type "Semana Santa" (means Holy Week)
