Within five years of her death, Woodman was hailed as something virtually unheard of within the male-dominated world of photography: a female prodigy who had left behind an improbably mature body of work, consisting of more than 800 pictures...'
Francesca Woodman is at Victoria Miro, London N1 (020 7336 8109), from Wed until Jan 22
I hope it is okay to post these links. I thought some of you might be interested in this tragic but wonderful photographer.
She certainly had a unique style.
Links to photo exhibitions are always welcome, Shirley. It gives the opportunity for people to go along and see for themselves. I'd never heard of Francesca Woodman before today so thank you for that. :0)
What a waste of a young and creative life. Some of the images don't do much for me, but others are very striking, and she definitely had something.
Thank you for the links, Shirley!
You are welcome. I have enjoyed my visits to the Van Gogh Museum. I find it fascinating to get an insight into a disturbed mind through art in any form.
Thank you weirdvis and xymonau for taking the time to check out these links.
