What are you celebrating today?

1. weirdvis5 March 2011, 9:46 GMT +01:00

Always a popular thread at the other place.

I'll kick this one off.

It was my birthday the other day. I was expecting a bottle of my favourite perfume (I've been dropping hints I was running low) and woke up to a Land Rover Freelander on the drive. I've always wanted a 4x4 and now I've finally got one courtesy of my Mum and my Significant Other Half.

Okay, so it's not a new one and it's not an all singing, all dancing model, but that doesn't bother me. It's a freaking Freelander, dudes!

Mine's a white soft top like the one in the foreground.

Downside - I'll have to fund my own bottle of smellies. Oh hold on - there's Mother's Day coming up...

Gratulations to you, Michael and Christa.

267. micromoth16 February 2012, 20:00 GMT +01:00

Well done Michael and Christa!

268. xymonau18 February 2012, 11:59 GMT +01:00

Congratulations, Michael and Christa! An excellent achievement, and many more to come!

20000 downloads for me ;-)

Lately the number of daily downloads on RGBStock is really high. Are we gaining popularity? :P

270. xymonau22 February 2012, 12:47 GMT +01:00

Congratulations, Michal! Very well done!

271. fishmonk23 February 2012, 22:01 GMT +01:00

Great numbers, Michal! Congratulations!

272. weirdvis24 February 2012, 7:56 GMT +01:00

Keep 'em coming Michal. :D

273. mzacha24 February 2012, 21:52 GMT +01:00

Somebody is downloading all my images that was downloaded eight times before. Weird. Do you have the same?

274. fishmonk24 February 2012, 23:05 GMT +01:00

No such luck here...

275. xymonau25 February 2012, 9:57 GMT +01:00

Michal, maybe they are downloading from the random images? I don't know the magic number to get there (it might have changed), but that could explain it.

276. mzacha25 February 2012, 23:13 GMT +01:00

Nope ;-). Right now somebody is downloading all "fives".

277. lennie27 February 2012, 9:37 GMT +01:00

I looked at this yesterday, it took me some time to figure out what was going on.

Someone in Spain on the Orange, I think mobile network, was downloading the whole week. They stopped.

They used some tricks we didn't check for yet, but we do now.

At the end of the day, I think all we can do is discourage them. Never completely prevent it.

278. mzacha27 February 2012, 14:31 GMT +01:00

Thanks for investigation. I think they are back ;-). But maybe they are just making a local archive? I think they are not the rippers because they work manually...

279. lennie27 February 2012, 16:19 GMT +01:00

It is obvious they would come back, we can't prevent people from downloading. I mean that is the whole point of the site, people can download ;-)

I think my new code has a bug though, but I've not found it yet.

280. lennie7 March 2012, 9:53 GMT +01:00

Seems to be solved.

The bug was in a different place than we expected.

I wish I had done it sooner though.

We'll have to see what happends with the downloads statistics.

281. crisderaud7 March 2012, 14:16 GMT +01:00

I finally bought a cell phone. Not a smart phone but one I can make phone calls when I leave the house.

282. xymonau8 March 2012, 0:15 GMT +01:00

I hate mobile phones, but I have to have one with my job. You'll wonder how you managed without it eventually.

283. crisderaud8 March 2012, 3:57 GMT +01:00

The little device is driving me bonkers just trying to set up the options.

It is "What's annoying me now" but I can call home when away from the house!

284. xymonau8 March 2012, 15:06 GMT +01:00

I still don't know how to use mine. I can't text messages. I can barely find any messages sent to me. It's just not natural to have so much technology beyond a certain age. And I'm clearly beyond it.

285. micromoth8 March 2012, 23:35 GMT +01:00

I hate the predictive text on my mobile phone. It predicts anything but what I actually want!

286. crisderaud9 March 2012, 18:57 GMT +01:00

Warmer weather is sending us sprinklings of sunshine. Getting the pool ready for a raucous season.

287. crisderaud15 March 2012, 16:52 GMT +01:00

I bought a new Canon 60D body. Should be a big improvement over the older 30D I have now.

288. gesinek15 March 2012, 19:30 GMT +01:00

Congratulations Chris und lot of sunshine for the pool season.

289. mzacha21 March 2012, 13:42 GMT +01:00

Chris, tell me more! I am planning to get 60D this spring. And I still do not know if it is a right decision. Is it really worth its money?
