How Alexa describes us..

1. lusi9 April 2011, 17:49 GMT +02:00

Has anyone read the description of average rgbstock users on Alexa? I had to laugh...
".... Compared with internet averages, the site's users are disproportionately female, and they are disproportionately more educated, low-income users aged 25–35 and 55–65 who have more children."

Are we also disproportionately low-income users?

Where on earth did they get that from?

Laffing

For the longest time "Lennie" was a major keyword for our site according to Alexa.
Google Analytics is much more accurate and up to date but not accessible to everyone.

All week long our Alexa rank has been teetering at 101,000 and I am waiting for it to drop into the -100,000 club. Should be any day now....

Not bad rankings considering we started out at over 6,000,000 with Alexa.

99.227... i.e. under 100.000! Congratulations to everyone!

5. xymonau10 April 2011, 11:23 GMT +02:00

Wow! That's a pretty high honour!

6. lennie10 April 2011, 14:58 GMT +02:00

And I have no idea why I'm a keyword, usually with these things you can reason why something like that happends, not in this case.

Maybe I should post less in the forum ?

I'm really happy we are now in the top 100.000, a fantastic achievement.

Let's hope we can stay within the first 100.000

.... wonders what a proportionately low-income is

BTW: congratulations!!

:D

"disproportionately more educated" would make you assume that our users would be in the higher pay bracket, or does it just prove that a good education doesn't get you a well paid job :0)

9. xymonau11 April 2011, 15:14 GMT +02:00

I think the education bit probably refers to the language used in our blurbs.

10. crisderaud12 April 2011, 2:12 GMT +02:00

Perhaps they used Dezzy's language in the Fun Zone for their analysis. :)

11. xymonau12 April 2011, 11:44 GMT +02:00

Ooh! You know how to hurt a girl! :)

12. micromoth12 April 2011, 13:29 GMT +02:00

Poor Dezzy! It's not fair to gang up on her. She has used some very colourful language. Especially when describing me.

13. xymonau12 April 2011, 13:38 GMT +02:00

Yes. Brown. And white.

14. crisderaud12 April 2011, 14:48 GMT +02:00

With little red eyes.

15. micromoth12 April 2011, 16:40 GMT +02:00

@13, 14. Excuse me, I'm brown and cream. Please. And I've already told you that the one with red eyes is an imposter!

16. xymonau14 April 2011, 12:24 GMT +02:00

Hmm. Not red, then, but definitely beady.

17. micromoth19 April 2011, 10:02 GMT +02:00

All good photographers have beady eyes. Sharpness, acuity, and all that.

18. xymonau19 April 2011, 10:35 GMT +02:00

Well, you miss out, then. You are not a cutey.

19. micromoth19 April 2011, 13:42 GMT +02:00

My wife thinks I am. :)

20. mzacha19 April 2011, 14:21 GMT +02:00

They might analyze the users from poorer countries, that have lover income than guys from US or GB.

21. decar6619 April 2011, 16:27 GMT +02:00

Welcome to the N.I.N.J.A. free stock photo site.......... Hahahahah, can't stop laughing..... hhoohohohooohhoooh. Well, I think I don't quite fit in here, male, aged 42 and billionare ;)

22. xymonau20 April 2011, 10:51 GMT +02:00

I knew you were rich, Salva. You appear to have a pet shark. Those things will eat you out of house and home.

23. decar6620 April 2011, 15:38 GMT +02:00

If I were billionare I would SUE them to death, till nothing's left in Alexa. Sure I would.

Btw, Alexa sounds like a distant planet, thousands of light years away, inhabitated by greenish aliens or something, right? At least to me. "We come from Planet Alexa in the confines of the Universe to eat you, HA HA HA... poor low income "NINJA" inhabitants of planet Earth.

24. decar6620 April 2011, 15:42 GMT +02:00

Hey Dez, don't mess with my shark, its teeth are sharp as swords ;)

25. decar6621 April 2011, 9:15 GMT +02:00

Now seriously, here is the reason, in our site's description...

"Our vision is to build the best free stock image site on the web. We are dedicated to making high quality images available to those who cannot afford to pay for them."
