text or no text as part of illustration

1. Groningen17 June 2011, 18:13 GMT +02:00

My Easter wallpapers with text were approved without any problems
today I've found out that my Rose illustration and wallpaper have been rejected with the remark >> please remove the text and re-upload

which I have done
small task
but still

what is the rule??

No text or yes text?

Fonts have copyrights that restrict their use for compositions. I didn't believe it the first time I heard it. Sad but true.

The approvers are protecting the site from possible violations. The rules are rather ill defined thus hard to explain. There is no absolute solution where we can say no text or text is ok. It's more of a judgement call.

Just be aware that if you include text as part of an illustration, you run the risk of having it rejected for the text.
