How are front page images selected

xymonau congratulated me on getting on the front page... and that set me to wondering... just how did that happen? How is the image selected?

We try to create a set of attractive photos for the front page. The main purpose is to 'seduce' visitors to going to use this site.

The photo has to fit is the small frame and has to be a appealing stock photo. I also selected some illustrations. I pick this photos based on what I think is a good one and I selected one from your new set of uploads. I hope you like it.

Sure... thanks. I take it as a compliment.

(Although, its probably more of a compliment to the model.)
