What are you celebrating today?

Always a popular thread at the other place.

I'll kick this one off.

It was my birthday the other day. I was expecting a bottle of my favourite perfume (I've been dropping hints I was running low) and woke up to a Land Rover Freelander on the drive. I've always wanted a 4x4 and now I've finally got one courtesy of my Mum and my Significant Other Half.

Okay, so it's not a new one and it's not an all singing, all dancing model, but that doesn't bother me. It's a freaking Freelander, dudes!

Mine's a white soft top like the one in the foreground.

Downside - I'll have to fund my own bottle of smellies. Oh hold on - there's Mother's Day coming up...

@24 Gone upmarket in our lav' m'dear. No tatty mags around anymore, just the Kindle. (Amazon take note: NEED COLOUR !) :0)

Glad your'e enjoying your LR, just a shame you can't afford to run the damn things these days. It's getting close to 'do I want to eat or do I want to buy some fuel and go for a drive ?'.

Not to worry, Phil. My other car is a tumbril with wheel mounted scimitars. I think it will prove to be a popular mode of transport in the not too distant future of UK politics...

I built a new computer out of spare parts and put them in a new case I bought. And it works! This one will be the family computer that the kids will fill up with junk and they never delete anything or run any cleaners either. When they install something they decide they don't like, it doesn't ever get uninstalled.

Well done, Cris. Typical teenagers. :)

31. weirdvis27 March 2011, 10:11 GMT +02:00

Phil, you flatter me, sir. A queen, no. A utiliser of ancient but interesting ideas that can fillet scumbags with little effort, absolutely! Evil laff.

That's a great way to recycle, Cris. :)

....my son is turning 25 today; my daughter turned 20 13 days ago - no more teens . . . . :-)

33. xymonau27 March 2011, 13:15 GMT +02:00

Ah, bittersweet times, John! Today is my granddaughters' birthday (twins). They turned six today.

36. xymonau30 March 2011, 10:36 GMT +02:00

Billy and Michal are both almost there. We are certainly seeing a lot more people joining and downloading these days. I wonder what we will look like in another year's time?

Thank you, Michal and Miguel. :)

Just celebrating Monday morning feeling motivated and rearing to go! Must have been the nice relaxing family day riding bikes yesterday, recharging the creative batteries :))

Nice to see all these old faces! Hope you're all well. :)

40. charcoal4 April 2011, 0:06 GMT +02:00

41. xymonau4 April 2011, 0:19 GMT +02:00

I thought your first attempt was right, but what do I know? LOL And that's enough with the "old". Everyone else is old. I am "of a certain age".

42. charcoal4 April 2011, 0:53 GMT +02:00

Yes, let's make that "familiar" faces!
